2009 GOALS & OBJECTIVES

The 2009 Pastoral Council determined these goals to be valuable for the betterment of the Holy Family Catholic Church and its service to the parish community. Listed for each goal are Pastoral Council members that focus their Council efforts in support those goals. Where appropriate, also listed are parish staff or volunteers (as indicated) who play a key role in fulfilling the goals.

GOAL 1-EXPAND PARISH EVANGELIZATION EFFORTS

Includes Belonging Leads to Believing (BLB) and Neighborhood Community organization initiatives.

GOAL 2-COMPLETE BUILDING EXPANSION AND DEVELOP A "USE STRATEGY"

Includes Fund Raising, adjudication of use policies for how to best serve community needs through the use of the new building facilities, and identification of amenities to ease disabled person access and enjoyment of the facility.

GOAL 3- EXPLORE AND IMPLEMENT STRONG SENSE OF SOCIAL JUSTICE

Includes Bishop Rozanski's recommendation for Spanish-speaking representation on the Pastoral Council.

GOAL 4-COMPLETE CLUSTER PLAN

Includes joint planning with Holy Family, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Our Lady of Sorrows representatives to develop a construct for operating three parishes with less than three priests.

GOAL 5-EXPAND THE YOUTH MINISTRY

Includes all youth programs and activities including God's Youth Ministry (GYM) for high school students), Jesus and Me (JAM) for middle school students), and the new initiative for a young adult ministry (18-35 year olds).

GOAL 6-PLAN FOR THE FUTURE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION IN THE PARISH

Includes focused planning that incorporates continuation of religious education activities, with special considerations required during the building expansion.

GOAL 7-EXPAND THE PARISH'S VOCATIONS RECRUITMENT EFFORTS

Includes promoting vocations, identifying qualified candidates and encouraging them to pursue a vocation in ordained ministry as Priests or Deacons, and in non-ordained ministry as processed religious or lay ecclesial ministers.
