Mystery of the Incarnation
At Christmas time we celebrate the gift of the incarnation: when God the Son became man. How can I explain such a deep mystery of faith? For your prayer time; when you are alone with God in prayer, I leave you with this reflection. When you pray, the Holy Spirit will explain it to you even better than I can.
Once there was the most powerful king: greater than any other king. He had the power of life and death. There was no one who opposed Him. But He loved an ordinary woman. She did not come from royalty; she did not live in a palace. She lived in a poor and simple home. He thought to Himself, "if I bring her to my palace and give her a royal gown and a diadem (a royal crown) for her head she will be grateful, but will she really love me? Will she be afraid to offend me, and thus her love be not sincere?" He knew the only way to learn if she would love Him sincerely would be if He came to her as if He were also poor.
We celebrate the mystery of the Incarnation, when Jesus, the eternal Son of God, stripped Himself of glory and became man. He came to show us the way. Those who are loyal to the end to this king will be robed in His love and virtues and housed in His eternal kingdom.
