Dear Friends:
This year we are asking you to support the 2021 Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries, "JOYFUL IN HOPE." This appeal will will continue to play a key role in sustaining the many good works of archdiocesan ministries that give back to our community and strengthen our Catholic faith. The vital programs and services provided by the Archdiocese of Baltimore serve 137 parishes and thousands of Catholics in 66 cities and towns across the State of Maryland. The Annual Appeal for Catholic Ministries is solely funded through the generosity and commitment of those who believe in these ministries, and their parishes, and who want to ensure they remain strong.
ARCHDIOCESAN MINISTRIES SUPPORTED BY THE 2021 ANNUAL APPEAL FOR CATHOLIC MINISTRIES: Apostleship of the Sea, Baltimore Child Abuse Center, Black Catholic Ministries, Camp GLOW, Cathedrals, Catholic Charities of Baltimore, College Campus Ministry, Crisis Pregnancy Centers, Disabilities Ministries, Evangelization through Media, Faith Formation, Hispanic Ministries, The Holy Father, Hospital Chaplaincy, O’Dwyer Retreat House, Prison Ministry, Respect Life Ministries, Retired Priests, Special Education & Inclusion Programs, St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore, Tuition Assistance, Vocations, Youth and Young Adult Ministry. It bears repeating that Appeal funds are NEVER used for purposes other than those stipulated in the Appeal Spending Plan, which does not include legal costs incurred by the Archdiocese for any reason.
Also a portion of our Annual Appeal funds also are rebated back to Holy Family which we portion out partially to our three sister parishes in Haiti, Baltimore City and also in Western Maryland, along with supporting our own parish.
You will receive a letter in the mail about this appeal, along with an envelope.
On the weekend of February 13th-14th reps from the parish, wearing rubber gloves, will also be handing out envelopes with a pencil in the envelope, one to each family, as people enter the building for the church or hall Mass or as they drive into the back lot. .And at the Masses that weekend we'll share some information about the appeal (along with a shorter homily on the readings of that weekend.) And then as you leave Masses that weekend there will be BASKETS AT THE DOORS to the church/hall for dropping off filled-out envelopes OR ushers at the ENTRANCE TO THE CHURCH NEAR THE OLD CHAPEL RIGHT ON CENTRAL AVENUE for the outside Mass FOR THE IN-PEW ENVELOPES TO DROP OFF. We will also then continue to have baskets for envelope drop-off to the appeal continuing to be in the narthex and as people drive in to the back lot for outside Mass ALL THROUGH LENT.
You can also donate at any time, and maybe make giving to this appeal part of your Lenten observance. What a great way to turn to the Lord, by helping brothers and sisters in need. You can donate on-line by going to https://www.archbalt.org/appeal/give/.
