Virtus
Adult Volunteers (Ages 18+)

For All Adult Volunteers

Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davidsonville. We are so grateful for your enthusiasm and generosity. As of November 1, 2017, in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, all parishes and Archdiocesan Catholic schools are using VIRTUS, a compliance management system that allows the management of ALL employees and adult volunteers. If you previously registered in Shield the Vulnerable, your account and data transferred to the Virtus system. Please contact Louisa Woolery at [email protected] to confirm your volunteer status.

Anyone volunteering in Holy Family Catholic Church, Davidsonville, Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, Boy Scouts, Music, Sick and Homebound, St. Vincent de Paul Society, or other programming where children may potentially be present has substantial contact with children and needs to indicate “volunteer with substantial contact with children” when registering. If you are unsure, please contact Louisa Woolery at [email protected], 410-269-0586. Thank you.

New Adult Volunteers

All NEW volunteer applicants must register and train in VIRTUS regardless of the ministry.

All new adult volunteers (18 and older), access the VIRTUS website and choose “FIRST-TIME REGISTRANT.”

NOTE: If you are 14-17 years of age and wish to volunteer, please contact the Office of Faith Formation at 410-798-5680 and ask about the Worthy of the Call Program for youth volunteers or click here for more information.

Please contact Louisa Woolery, VIRTUS Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected] or 410-269-0586 with any questions or to obtain step by step instructions for registering in VIRTUS.

Reporting Suspected Abuse

The Archdiocese of Baltimore complies with Maryland laws requiring reporting suspected child abuse to civil authorities.  Under Maryland Law any person who has reason to believe a child has been subjected to abuse must report the suspected abuse to civil authorities, even if the potential victim is now over 18 years old and even in cases where the alleged perpetrator is deceased. A list of local Child Protective Service offices can be found here. If someone associated with the Church, including clergy, employees, or volunteers of the  Archdiocese of Baltimore, is suspected of  abuse, then the suspected abuse must also be reported to  the Archdiocesan, Office of Child and Youth at 410-547-5348 or the Victims Assistance Line at  1-866-417-7469. For more information and contact phone numbers for Maryland State’s Attorneys’ Offices, click here.
