Fall 2024 Adult Faith Studies
1. When You Pray: A Clear Path to a Deeper Relationship with God
This is a 10-session video series written and presented by Dr. Edward Sri for Ascension. He describes it thus: "You know prayer is important but still find it challenging. Perhaps it’s hard to find time, or you’re unsure what to do when you pray. Or maybe you feel discouraged by your weaknesses and your inability to overcome them.
"If you have any of these feelings, you are not alone. Many of the saints struggled in prayer. They were like us. But each time they fell, they got up again and learned to rely more on God’s grace. "What God did in the lives of countless saints, he wants to do in the lives of ordinary people like us. And that’s what this study is about: the journey of prayer God wants to take us on." Choose between 2 session times: Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 25, from 10-11:30 AM in Unity Hall OR Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 25, from 7-8:30 PM in Unity Hall. |

Sermon on the Mount: A Little Rock Scripture Study by Clifford Yeary. Jesus calls us to profound discipleship in the Sermon on the Mount. This study will challenge us to hear the sermon once again as Christ intended it, as our call to follow him whose life illustrated its very ideal, as a message for each of us, a challenge that is our constant call to renewal.
Sessions will be Monday evenings, August 26-October 28 from 7-8:30 PM in Rms. 12/13.

Disciples in Christ Discussion Group (Ongoing):
This group is for anyone seeking to grow in knowledge of discipleship and how best to put it in action. We do this through the reading of various Catholic literary works and engaging in philosophical discussions on what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. As of mid-Summer 2024, we are currently discussing the book, Falling Upward, by Richard Rohr. The next book will begin in late August/early September. The group meets every Friday morning from 10-11:30 AM in rooms 12 & 13. All are invited to join us at anytime!
