Welcome to the Respect Life Ministry at Holy Family Catholic Church! Our mission is to uphold the sanctity of life from conception to natural death through prayer, education, and action. We are dedicated to advocating for the most vulnerable in our community and beyond.

Our activities include participating in the 40 Days for Life Campaigns, where we join in peaceful prayer vigils to support the dignity of life. We also take part in the Wellspring Walk & Run for Life, promoting the value of life while fostering community spirit, and the National Walk for Life, in Washington, DC.

We also support the Gabriel Network. For more than 25 years, Gabriel Network has served women and children in Maryland and Washington, D.C. They provide comprehensive, compassionate support to pregnant and parenting moms and their families. Learn more about their services at: gabrielnetwork.org.

Inspired by Christ’s love for us, we’ve created a network of community support to help those facing unexpected pregnancies. These are just a few of our activities. Check out the information below to learn more.

Assisted Suicide (AS) Update

Sadly, the push to legalize assisted suicide in Maryland is ramping up again even as examples of individuals being pressured toward assisted suicide continue to surface in other regions. The Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC) opposes physician assisted suicide because it seeks to legalize the intentional taking of human life.

Educate yourself on the issue. The Dignity Mandate, has a 30-minute documentary exposing the dangers of legalizing assisted suicide and has several fact sheets including one that dispel some of the most common myths about AS.
Sign up for alerts from Maryland Against Physician Assisted Suicide (MAPAS) which is a coalition that includes physicians and other medical providers, faith groups, disability advocates and other organizations committed to supporting individuals through the natural end of life.
