Register for Faith Formation Classes

The Religious Education Office is now accepting registrations for Faith Formation Classes for the 2020-2021 school year. For the first time ever, you can register and pay online.
***In-person classes, as well as virtual/Zoom classes are being offered this year. Please indicate your 1st and 2nd choice preferences when you register.***
Click here for the registration form: https://www.cognitoforms.com/HolyFamilyChurchDavidsonville/FaithFormationRegistration20202021
Our registration deadline was Aug 22nd in the interest of trying to have time to organize our classes and to be ready for our Sept 20-21 start dates. But you can still register after that day. However we do ask you to try to register as soon as is possible, again to help us in organizing our program in September.

Dear Families,
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we try to determine the best options for our Faith Formation program this fall. As you can imagine, we are working through many different challenges as we begin to finalize all the details. Please know that the health and safety of our volunteers and the children that we teach is of the greatest concern to us. At Holy Family Church, we have already implemented several measures which are designed to protect parishioners, staff, and visitors from potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus by minimizing contacts, promoting social distancing, and increasing our sanitizing practices throughout the entire building.
We now know that Anne Arundel County Public Schools will be online in the Fall. However, the Archdiocese of Baltimore is working through plans to reopen Catholic schools for in-person instruction. For this reason, we are considering several different options for our upcoming Faith Formation classes: in-person classes, virtual classes or a combination of both. We feel strongly that students learn best in a class with an admired teacher and surrounded by their peers but we realize that not everyone will be comfortable returning to the classroom. Virtual classes and homeschool options are available for you as well. Please be assured that any in-person classes will be held with all the necessary health and safety precautions in place. Classes will begin mid-September.
Children entering PreK through 8th grade are eligible for Faith Formation classes. Rising 9th grade students should enroll in the Confirmation Program led by our Youth Minister, John Freiland. Email youthministry@hfccmail.org for more information.
I encourage you to complete your registration form now in order to secure your spot. We can make changes later, if necessary. Registration is completely online this year so there are no forms to fill out and send back to us. Follow this link: https://www.cognitoforms.com/HolyFamilyChurchDavidsonville/FaithFormationRegistration20202021.
Additionally, we can now accept credit card tuition payments through Faith Direct. More information can be found in the registration form and in your confirmation email.
Please feel free to contact me directly at dre@hfccmail.org with any questions or concerns.
I look forward to another wonderful year of Faith Formation in spite of the new challenges we face.
Yours in Christ,
Dodie Seppi

- New Class times:
- Session 1 Classes: Sundays - 8:45am – 10:00am (Grades K-8)
- Session 2 Classes: Sundays - 11:15am – 12:30pm (Grades K-8)
- Session 3 Classes: Mondays - 4:30pm – 5:45pm (Grades 1-8)
- Class size limits will be strictly enforced. Some of our larger, double classrooms will allow us to accommodate up to 15 students at a time. The other single classrooms will be used for smaller classes, 6-8 students max. Additionally, other non-traditional classroom spaces (the Youth Room, Mary’s Grotto, etc.) throughout the building may be used as needed to maintain proper social distancing and keep everyone spread out.
- Professional cleaning products will be used to sanitize the classrooms in between sessions. The additional time between classes and teams of helpers will make this possible.
- PreK will not be offered in-person this year. Instead, we will have a special NEW online program for both PreK and K students to use at home if they wish.
- Students will be given individual bags of supplies to use in the classroom (pencils, crayons, etc.) and their books to transport back and forth to class each week. There will be no sharing.
- Masks must be worn by catechists, aides, and students at all times, including during classes.
- Each room will have hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes to be used as needed.
