Cantors
Cantors (teens and adults) are visible leaders in our liturgies who possess the tools to lead prayer and worship through music. They are responsible for proclaiming the Responsorial Psalm and leading the assembly in song and occasionally teach the assembly new hymns. Cantors meet with the music director separately as needed. Cantors minister at the Saturday 5:00 pm Mass and Sunday 8:30 am and 10:30 am Masses. Some experience in singing alone is necessary. Contact Ron Brown at [email protected] -- put HFC Music in the subject on the email.
The Contemporary Ensemble
The Contemporary Ensemble sings for the 10:30 am Mass on the 3rd, 4th and 5th Sunday of each month. The Contemporary Ensemble uses a variety of contemporary liturgical music, in a praise and worship style, encouraging a deeper connection to the Readings. There are no outside rehearsals. We meet before the Mass to learn or fine tune the music before singing. Ability to read music is a plus but not required. Contact Bill MacDonald at [email protected] for more detailed information.
