The Church gives us Lent as a time of renewal, fostered by a spirit of contrition, penance, and conversion. We're invited to pray more, to fast, and to give alms. But Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:16 "When you fast, do not look gloomy". Why not avoid looking gloomy by enjoying a Lenten contest?
To be eligible to win the contest, a family/team must submit seven entries presented throughout Lent: one for Ash Wednesday, one each for the following five weeks of Lent, and one for Holy Week. Each entry will have three questions about all things Lenten: one for adults/young adults, one for high-school/middle-school youth, and one for children in 5th Grade or younger. The questions all deal with Sacred Scripture, Catholic teaching, and the liturgies we'll experience in Lent (especially the Good Friday liturgy).
On Easter (after the completion of the Easter Vigil), the winning family/team will be randomly selected from those families/teams who are tied for the most points at the end of the contest. If there's no tie, well, the family/team with the most points at the end of the contest wins the contest prize (a minimum $50 value gift card to the restaurant of the winner's choice - this also helps our sisters and brothers in the restaurant industry).

COVID-19 Forms and PoliciesAs the CDC continues to update their guidelines, the youth ministry team are continually looking to provide fun and safe events to the Holy Family Youth Community. Youth Ministry is unable to hold events indoors due to the lack of space appropriate for events, and therefore will be using the policy below when planning future events: Holy Family Youth Ministry will be switching to virtual meetings during the winter in response to the worsening numbers of the COVID19 pandemic. Please fill out the Assumption of Risk for records (only need one copy) as well as health check for each event.
