Pastor's Message
June 11, 2023 - The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi)
On this coming Friday, eleven of our young people will travel to Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio for the weekend to attend the Steubenville Youth Conference. Please keep them in your prayers along with the other four adults who will accompany them. We pray that they will have safe travels and that our young people will come back “on fire” strengthened to share their Catholic faith in Jesus the Lord.
On the following day, Saturday, June 17th, we will welcome Archbishop William Lori here to Holy Family. During his pastoral visit to our parish, Archbishop Lori will lead us in celebrating the Eucharist at the 5pm Mass that day. After the Mass, we will have a reception for the Archbishop in Unity Hall. I invite you to join us for this Mass with Archbishop Lori and the reception following.
I also share with you the progress on our HVAC Campaign. As of this past Sunday, June 4th, we have received $43,419. These gifts combined with the $50,000 from our reserve fund, gives us a total of $93,419 or 15% towards our goal of $630,000! We are tracking our parish’s progress in our HVAC Campaign with the two red thermometers in our narthex. The thermometers are on the two brick walls on the far right or left of the double doors that lead into our Church.
Every dollar given during this two year campaign is cathedraticum free, which means every dollar will go toward the purchase and installation of our new HVAC System. If you would like to make your contribution thru Faith Direct, you can contribute to the maintenance collection on Faith Direct. If you would like assistance in choosing this option for the campaign, feel free to call the Parish Office. Thank you for your support!
The school year in Anne Arundel County is fast coming to a close this week and the summer vacation season will be beginning. So, we will begin our summer Mass schedule starting the weekend of July 1st & 2nd thru August 26th & 27th. The Mass schedule will be as follows: Saturday Vigil Mass - 5pm, Sunday Masses - 8:30am & 10:30am. In September we will return to our regular Mass schedule.
Lastly, for those of you reading this early on our website, our parish picnic is this Sunday, June 11th after the 11:15am Mass from 12:30pm - 2:30pm on the back parking lot of our campus and the food tables will be in Unity Hall. The parish will supply hamburgers and hotdogs. We ask you to please bring a side dish to share. Come out and try to “Dunk your Pastor” in the dunking tank! See all the details and sign up on the homepage of the parish website (www.holyfamilychurch.com). It promises to be a great day filled with fellowship, great food and fun!
